In and of itself, DeMotte isn't a place where people would say it has a "racism trouble" however, it is in the full general surface area of where quite a few folks who have previously lived in suburban-areas that take go bulk-minority have moved and and so there could be some anticipation. Then once more, it depends "how hispanic" you are. As y'all know, Hispanic is a very broad and diverse category. Is your family unit 1st generation, 2d generation, third generation, or across? Are you a White Hispanic or Non-White Hispanic? In full general, many Whites in rural areas are not besides apprehensive (anymore at to the lowest degree) when it comes to Hispanics/Latinos unless they experience that their presence has pushed them out of agricultural or manufacturing employment. Unfortunately, in general, most racial apprehension in NWI (and pretty much everywhere) tends to be with whatever race and Black.

If you want a small-town/rural setting that may be a bit less of a racial business organisation, y'all may want to check out Hebron. If y'all are okay with a larger expanse, check out Hobart, Crown Point, or Winfield which are more various and take a larger and growing Hispanic population (especially Hobart).

It's about fourth dimension white people started owning upwardly to the fact that white flight is entirely a problem of their ain making. Minorities moving in isn't what causes suburbs to decline, it'south the mass exodus of the more affluent being replaced by people who are less affluent regardless of their race. Desirable businesses follow the money and quality of life for everyone left declines. If their isn't a huge downward shift in the economic status of an expanse it'due south not going to turn down in whatsoever meaningful fashion. This isn't a rant on the person I quoted simply the Midwest mentality in general...actually a shame what has happened with some of the cities/suburbs at that place and Actually frustrating that whites are still pointing their fingers at everyone else.

To address the OPs business, while Demotte isn't exactly brimming with enlightened folks, it'due south probably not alot worse than anywhere else in NWI that isn't predominantly hispanic. If ones behavior is in keeping with the rest of whatsoever area yous cull you should exist fine. On the otherhand if your family outwardly displays hispanic heritage in ways that would magnify differences Demotte wouldn't be a great place for you guys.
